OS X's BSD/unix command-line Commands for Dealing with Text Files Index. Search the contents of a text file, and print lines containing a given word or pattern. Convert the Mac-format file macfile.txt to unix format, and save the result as unixfile.txt. The program includes support for all popular file formats (MS Office, PDF, RTF, HTML, and other text and binary files). Search filters include date and size, as well as text or hexadecimal codes. Next i have a folder containing few thousand text files and each file must have one hash value from which we can recognize individual text file. Now, i want to read each line of “a.txt” and want to search through the directory to find which file contains the particular hash value. The text inside PDF documents are not indexed by Windows or by most desktop search programs, so if you need to find a particular PDF doc, you have to manually open each one and perform a search. If you’re simply looking for some text in one PDF, it’s not a problem, but if you need to scan through many PDF documents in a directory, you can.

Maybe this one? Text-to-speech app for mac. Sqlyog community download for mac.
EDIT: the 'n' option of course is not needed - it simply displays the line numbers and I find it nice. Best mac text editor for begineers. The 'r' option tells grep to perform recursive search within directories.

Use
If your
grep supports -r , (GNU grep does); if not use
If your
find supports -exec with + , otherwise use
If your
find supports -printf and your xargs supports -0 , or
If your
find supports only -print0 and your xargs supports -0 . In all other cases fall back on
Mac Search For File Containing Text
This is maximally compatible, with the caveat that certain unusual file names will fail to be grepped and crafted file names could pose a security risk. Smart pdf converter serial key.
Note that you will have to be root in order to be sure of searching all files and that the search will be case-sensitive unless you add SorpigalSorpigal
-i to grep .
